Reverse Osmosis Reverse Osmosis (RO) is a membrane process that acts as a molecular filter to remove more than 99% of all dissolved minerals. Water passes through the membrane while the dissolved and particulate matter is left behind. As pressure is applied to the concentrated solution, the flow is reversed and water is passed through the membrane from the concentrated side to the dilute side. RO can be effectively used for the reduction of Total Dissolved Solids in groundwater, surface water and sea water applications. The success of RO technology can be attributed largely to the economics of its operation and to its simplicity. Compared to other salt removal technologies, it is relatively inexpensive to purchase and to operate. It requires neither an energy intensive phase change such as distillation nor a large volume of strongly acidic and caustic chemicals, such as those required for ion-exchange systems.
System features Nanotechs RO systems are constructed according to all cGMP rules for the production of purified water according to EP, USP, BP and Americas Food & Drug Administration (FDA) rules and can be single or double pass with the following characteristics:
RO design considerations To allow us to size your RO plant accurately both from a technical and an economical point of view we require basic data such as:
