Clean steam generators
Nanotechs long-term experience in the technology of water production for pharmaceutical applications is encapsulated in the new pure steam generator models BDA and BDC, while the CPSG DIA model has been designed primarily to sterilise the purified water circuits of Dialysis Centres, food and cosmetic equipment and plants. The CPSG equipment produces pure and pyrogen free steam, in accordance with the latest international pharmacopoeias guidelines (EP, BP, FDA, cGMP, etc.) for any pharmaceutical application such as:
- sterilisation of storage tanks
- sterilisation of solution tanks
- sterilisation of distribution loops
- sterilisation of any other pharmaceutical equipment or filter
- heating autoclaves/steriliser
- sterilisation of dialysis circuits
- sterilisation of filling and packing equipment
Nanotechs three series of pure steam generators have been specifically designed to meet the various requirements of pure and pyrogen free steam systems, arising from the different processes and manufacturing requirements of the pharmaceutical industry and hospitals, offering:
Performance
- BDA models cover any capacity from 50 up to 6000 kg/h
- BDC models have capacities ranging from 50 up to 300 kg/h
- DIA models cover any capacity from 20 up to 120 kg/h.
Heating system
- through industrial steam
- through electric power
- BDA models are provided with a DTS (Double Tube Sheet Heat Exchanger) and can be heated by steam.
- BDC models are heated by steam by means of a heat exchanging coil.
- DIA models are heated by electrical energy.
Operating characteristics
The pre-treated water that is, the feed water supplied by a demineraliser or Reverse Osmosis plant is transferred by a special pump into an evaporation column and comes into contact with the heat exchanger, which in the case of the BDA series, is a DTS (Double Tube Sheet heat exchanger). Once the required level of the feed water set by the controller has been reached, it opens the modulating valve steam valve. Steam enters the heat exchanger and starts the heating and subsequent evaporation of the pre-treated water. The feed water starts boiling, thus generating pure steam, which expands into the evaporation column. The evaporation column is designed to minimise steam velocity to avoid the entrainment of water droplets. To further avoid the entrainment of water droplets, the steam is passed through a special separator installed in the upper part of the evaporation column. This separator ensures a total separation of water droplets from the steam, thus resulting in totally dry, sterile and pyrogen free steam. The pure steam exits to service via a special valve for use by the various applications.
Electronic control of the BDA and BDC pure steam generators allows for:
- operators to set the pressure of the pure steam
- integration of the controls of the pure steam generator with the controls of other Nanotech equipment, such as the STMC or SMEF series distillers or the CROS series Reverse Osmosis plant.
The CPSG DIA clean steam generators are designed for smaller duties and present simple operation requirements for unskilled operators.
Design characteristics
- The CPSG pure steam generators are designed and constructed with materials complying with the requirements of CGMP and the American Food & Drug Administration (FDA), while the pressure vessels are in accordance with many international standards. The generators are constructed entirely in AISI 316L stainless steel.
- All internal surfaces, including those in contact with the feed water are mirror polished and passivated. No additional cost is required for this standard finish.
- All internal welds are achieved using TIG (Tungsten Inert Gas).
- The pure steam generators are thermally insulated with glass fibre and finally clad in AISI 304, satin finish, stainless steel sheets.
- The feed water pump is constructed from AISI 316 stainless steel with internal parts mirror polished.
- The gaskets are in PTFE.
- The framework is in AISI 304 stainless steel.
The plant is equipped with a PLC control panel, which controls and supervises the generator.
Optionals
- Generators can be installed on the trolley.
- A special device for eliminating condensable and incondensable gases that could be present in the feed water.
- A device for metering in real time the conductivity of the pure steam generator, complete with alarms and automatic stop command of the plant in case the conductivity is below the set parameters.
- Electropolishing of internal surfaces.
- Software integration line with other COR pharmaceutical equipments.
- Control panel in AISI 304 S.S. satin finished.
Capacities
- The capacities of the CPSG BDA pure steam generators refer to heating steam pressure at 6 bar or to electrical energy or to high temperature water heating, according to various models.
- The effective capacity of the CPSG BDC pure steam generators depends on the available pressure of the heating (primary) steam.
- The capacities of all CPSG DIA pure steam generators depend on the electrical energy (kW/h) available to heat the equipment.
- The capacities of all equipment are also dependent on the required output pressure of the pure steam.
